About Sal
Due to the lack of potable water, the island was abandoned until the 19th century. Only with the beginning of the salt exploitation in the locality of Pedra de Lume, is the resumption of the settlement and today is the most tourist island of Cape Verde.

Known for its white sand beaches, bathed in turquoise blue hues, Santa Maria Beach will be a place to visit. The natural pool of Buracona and the saline of Pedra de Lume should also be included in your itinerary.
